ROSE BAY WILLOW HERB

ROSE BAY WILLOW HERB

12” x 10” (31 x 25cm)

Watercolour

£650

I’m not sure why I don’t use watercolour more often. I love it when I do, yet nearly always use it only for sketching or pre-studies, as if it was some kind of inferior medium, which it most certainly isn’t. Some of my favourite artists work extensively with it. The rose bay willow herb - if that’s what it is - is one of my favourite plants. It has been a companion down the days because it too likes wastelands and railway verges, flourishing in the ashes so I’m told. Work presented glazed with mount and black lacquer frame.
